Blinders.

Written in Oct. 2020, I felt this one, still do, that was a moment of challenge to the stocks of our souls. It’s a groovy dark one with cool blue fog. It is also has a sav to the wound feeling to me.

“Stop the cold losses from cruel cult bosses”

At that time, I personally felt the fast moving tragedy of the pandemic that enveloped all of us.

So under the headline organic preservation “Not to go insane” and basic survival skills, I baked all of these emotions into this musical cookie.

Making another one in the tradition of Indie Rough Church soul music but felt in a different way than before.

In any case, in 2020 the world was spinning down, I just couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I, maybe just like you, had to focus on the next zoom meeting, grocery store run, etc we all suffered some more than others. Most of us were at the very least putting on our raincoats and bearing the psychic weather.

In all fairness, 2019 was not well in America either, but then, more drought, heat, fires, hurricanes, floods, and finally a plague. All at once, I thought, too many whammys!,

“If you have a friend hold on to them tight”
“Gotta get through this ugly night”

I humbled by the tragedy, but also by examples of our fighting spirit.

Amazing drums and percussion by Alfredo Ortiz, in pocket bass by Mark Doten, soaring heart-fueled violin loveliness from Katiln Wolfberg, and a killer gritty dirt floor soul from Dante Pascuzzo’s electric guitar at end.
