Ok, no lie that pandemic pre vaccine’s was a bummer, but a sav to the open wound was writing this song.
It may seem like a fluffy idea, pandering to say keep your sense of humor, trust your gifts and all that, but it was a real challenge to even the most smug amonst us.
Actually I think I am still awkward and insecure more than ever, but I needed a song, something to hold on to. Thanks to my wife, bandmates, Be Hussey, we kept it all going in 2020-2021.
In a deeper way, the song is to myself to encourage my better thoughts.
They say you can’t pay any price to get your soul back, some things are not for sale.
So I think this is really about where you want the line to stay, to keep sanity. Being able to rest my head on the pillow at night comes from knowing that I have a mostly clear conscious when it comes to the motto this is your life, you can have it all” “just don’t hurt nobody” or as Andy from XTC says.
So in that spirit and through these crazy times, I wanted to share what I think keeps me sane is to keep a Silly Heart.
Have Valentine’s day, be good to yourself, you are your own first Valentine. p.s. dedicated to A.E.B. (Greg Franco | Feb 6th 2022)

SILLY HEART LYRICS
Keep a Silly Heart
Like a magic card
Pulled out of a sleeve
The World’s in a spinning weave
Hard times have a knack
Get that Silly heart back
Hard times, hard times have a knack
Get that Silly heart back
I’m thinking of a scene
We really laughed,
We almost peed
Through the surf and the trees
Windy Streets
Old and pizza joints
Silly hearts winning points
Playing and Walking
With your honey
Put that silly heart on your money!
Even when you feel
So differently sometimes
How you feel so differently
Remember that night?
Remember that day?
Sure we fight
We keep it at bay.
Feel the bumps in the road.
When the magic happens
So Lazzie Faire
Swift like moving air
I didn’t say it was fair
Playing and Walking
With your honey
Fall gained ground so fast
Don’t get too serious
Keep a Silly Heart,
Keep a Silly Heart
Keep a Silly Heart
